Krysten Ritter, who made the gruff P.I. character key to Netflix\u2019s darker corner of the Marvel universe, is already confirmed to reprise her role in <em>Daredevil: Born Again<\/em> season 2 next year, but Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum (via <a href=\"https:\/\/thedirect.com\/article\/marvel-boss-jessica-jones-series-coming-soon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>TheDirect<\/em><\/a>) has now hinted there may be more in store for the fan-favorite character, teasing that a new Jessica Jones series could be \u201csooner than you think.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ritter\u2019s return in <em>Born Again<\/em> is already pretty exciting. The fact that Marvel is imminently bringing Matt Murdoch and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/jessica-jones\/\">Jessica Jones<\/a> together again on screen suggests that they know there\u2019s an appetite for grittier stuff in the MCU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\r\n\n\t\t<div class=\"ad-dog__cnx-container\"><script id=\"0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796\">\n\t\t\tcnx.cmd.push(function() {\n\t\t\t\tcnx({\n\t\t\t\t\tplayerId: \"106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530\",\n\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t}).render(\"0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796\");\n\t\t\t});\n\t\t<\/script><\/div>\n\t\n\n\n<p>Ritter has also chimed in on her character\u2019s potential future. While keeping details under wraps, she\u2019s revealed that she and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/marvel\/\">Marvel<\/a> have discussed where Jessica could go next, and that there\u2019s \u201ca lot of stuff I\u2019ve felt there was room to explore\u201d, adding \u201cI am not going to say any of it, because we&#8217;re going to be doing it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although <em>Daredevil: Born Again<\/em>\u2019s premiere ratings rather paled in comparison to that of Marvel\u2019s <em>Agatha All Along<\/em>, it was well-received both critically and by audiences, and its quick renewal signaled that Marvel is still invested in its street-level heroes. They have also recently been downplaying Netflix\u2019s original role in making <em>Daredevil <\/em>and<em> Jessica Jones<\/em>, with former Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb telling <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/entertainment\/marvel-tv-shows\/former-marvel-tv-head-praises-daredevil-born-again-but-says-dont-call-the-defenders-the-netflix-heroes-im-not-sure-if-anything-like-has-happened-before-especially-across-two-networks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Newsarama<\/em><\/a>, &#8220;while it&#8217;s an easy shorthand to call them the &#8216;Netflix&#8217; heroes \u2013 the plain truth is Netflix was our network. They aired the shows that then Marvel Television created, produced, wrote, cast, shot, edited, scored, etc.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Marvel\u2019s streaming strategy does seem to be switching to more character-focused projects and less expensive action. That\u2019s clear from the first footage of their forthcoming <em>Wonder Man<\/em> and <em>VisionQuest <\/em>shows, the latter of which sees several key AI characters from the MCU take human form instead. Both series seem to be trying to take fresh story approaches and offering something interesting to audiences who might be a bit tired of Marvel\u2019s Disney+ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/superhero\/\">superhero<\/a> beats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.denofgeek.com\/daredevil\/\">Daredevil<\/a><\/em> and <em>Jessica Jones<\/em> have always felt like a more grounded area of the Marvel Universe, so they fit into that strategy well.
